Departure Point and Transport
Unless otherwise stated, transport will depart from Westgate Civic Offices at 9.00 am.  
Pick up from Low Town at 9.10 am (details confirmed when you book). 

Transport is either by Coach, Minibus or Community Bus and some trips are by car.

Deposits for Trips
A non-refundable deposit of £10 per member is payable when signing up for a Gardens Trip.   
You will be given a receipt to stick in your diary.  

Balance of Trip Monies
Costs for each trip vary due to final numbers, entrances fees and transport used on the day.
The balance due will be collected (cash please) on the day of the trip, before embarking the coach.
Trips range between £15 and £35.

National Garden Scheme (NGS)
NGS Gardens (and other Gardens) with entrance charges are included in the trip cost.

National Trust Membership (NT)
Non NT Members need to pay entrance fees. 
It is cost effective to have NT Membership … but please remember to bring your Membership Card!

If, for any reason, you are unable to join us on the day, and if applicable, you will be asked to pay
any outstanding personal balance due for the pre-booked transport costs.

Visit 1 ... MARCH 1st     Thursday     9.00am     Coach
HODSTOCK PRIORY, Nottinghamshire  (am)
17 special snowdrops.  5 acres of formal gardens.  12 acres of Horse pasture wood which includes some veteran oak trees over 400 ears.

CALKE ABBEY, Ticknell, Derbys  NT (pm)
The house and stables have been preserved as the NT found them.   The gardens yield flowers andproduce throughout the year, while fading garden buildings such as the Orangery show former fortunes.


Visit 2 ...  MARCH 29th     Thursday    9:00 am    Community Bus
EDGE VILLA, nr Yockleton  NGS   (am)
A 2 acre garden, 400 foot up with stunning views of the South Shropshire Hills.  Self sufficient vegetable plot, productive orchard, large herbaceous borders.

Time for lunch and buying our summer bedding plants and seeds


Visit 3 ...  APRIL 26th     Thursday   9:00 am       Minibus
BRYAN’S GROUND, Presteigne  (am)
3 acres of intimate garden rooms that have been growing since 1913.   Furnished with follies and fragrant flowers, towers and topiary, pools and potager.  5 acres of specimen trees on the banks of  river on the border with Wales.

BURFORD HOUSE GARDENS, Tenbury Wells  (pm)
Georgian House with a C20 garden specialising    in clematis. Lawns, borders, water garden and woodland  garden on the banks of the River Teme.

BLUEBELL WALK, Worfield (am)
*Meet at Worfield Recreation Hall at 10 .00am. Come see the wonderful carpet of English bluebells in the woods. Approx 2 miles + 5/6 stiles.


Visit 5 ... MAY 24th     Thursday       9:00 am           Coach
BODNANT, Conway  NT  (am)
Grand formal terraces. Pin Mill. The famous Laburnam Arch which should be in full bloom! The Dell and four National Collections of Flowers.


Visit 6 ... JUNE 7th     Thursday     9.00 am          Minibus
With spectacular views this one acre organic garden has been developed over the last 12 years. Many rooms, vibrant herbaceous borders and terraces, rose trellises, large vegetable plot, wild garden with natural pond.  This is a tea garden and we will have lunch here.

RUTHNALL MANOR, Ditton Priors  NGS  ( pm)
Mature collection of specimen trees.  The garden divides into intimate sections carefully linked  with winding paths. Striking borders.  Clematis and roses scramble through wrought-iron work. Horse pool with primulas, iris and bog plants.


Visit 7 ... JUNE 28th    Thursday    9.00 am            Community Bus
Over 12 amazing gardens set in the grounds of a gothic rectory. 3 acre garden includes the African jungle, Triton pool, Pirate garden, Italian piazza, Toad Hall in the Willow garden, Japanese garden with tea house.                                             

STOCKTON BURY, Kimbolton (pm)
4 acre garden. Medieval pigeon house, kitchen garden, water gardens and well planted borders.   A favourite to visit over the years.

DYFFRYN GARDENS, Glamorgan NT (day)
A garden for all seasons. Intimate garden rooms, formal lawns, and an extensive arboretum. Impressive collection of rare cacti and orchids in the re-instated glasshouse.


Visit 9 ... AUGUST 2nd     Thursday    9:00 am    Community Bus
CWM WEEG, Dolfor, Newtown NGS  (am)
2.5 acre garden set within 24 acres of wild-lower meadows, bluebell woodland and stream. Formal garden with vistas, grottos, sculptures, lawns and extensive borders terraced with stone walls.   
Lunch at Charlies in Welshpool

1 CHURCH BANK, Welshpool   NGS ( pm)
A jewel in the town. Walk through the ground floor of this C17 town house into a large garden room housing a museum of tools from different trades. Mystic pool of smoke + sounds, Gothic arch, shell grotto, bonsai garden and fernery.


Visit 10 ... AUGUST 23rd     Thursday   8.00am*      Coach
PLAS NEWYD, Anglesey   NT   (am)
The house sits majestically on the shores of the Menai Straits.  Australasian arboretum, Italianate terrace garden and extensive woodland walks. Look out for the red squirrels?

PLAS CADNANT, Anglesey NT  ( pm)
The work began in 1996 on the restoration of the  historic garden and grounds, the home of the Price family since 1804. The gardens have undergone a spectacular transformation and are being restored to their former glory.

SNOWSHILL MANOR, Broadway  NT (am)
Manor house with a huge collection of beautiful and interesting objects. The Priest's House is next door to the Manor. Terraced gardens with lovely views of the Cotswolds. A quirky place - a world away from the ordinary!

BUSCOT PARK, Faringdon, Oxfords NT (pm)
New works of art mingle with the old within the house and new alleys and vistas stride out within the grounds. A wonderful walled garden.

BLUEBELL ARBORETUM, Ashby-de-la-Zouch  (am)
The finest collection of unusual shrubs and trees in Derbyshire. 9 acres. The arboretum has become a beautiful woodland walk with rare plant treasures on display
KEDLESTON HALL , Quarndon, Derby
NT (pm)
One of the grandest and most perfectly finished houses designed by Robert Adam.   820 acres of beautiful naturalistic parkland which blends well into the surrounding countryside.  More than 100 ancient trees.

ERDDIG, Wrexham  NT  (am)

Erddig tells the 250 year old story of a gentry family's relationship with its servants.  Fully restored C18 garden with trained fruit trees, herbaceous borders, avenues of pleached limes. National collection of ivies.
MORETON PARK, Chirk for Xmas Shopping  (pm)

A chance for some retail therapy buying those last minute Christmas presents.
